Classes were suspended at the Bolgatanga Technical Institute in the Upper East Region following a violent clash between two student groups on campus last night.
The situation escalated Wednesday morning leading to the destruction of school property and forcing others to flee for safety.
Some students were injured in the clash, reports Radio Ghana.
Although the immediate cause of the incident is yet to be ascertained the Municipal Security Council has ordered a temporary closure of the school amid fears of a reprisal attack.
Investigations have started as reports say the clash could be tribally motivated.
A similar incident occured forcing management to shutdown the school.
An independent committee was commissioned to investigate the matter. They however suspended their work following the COVID-19 pandemic.
