Marcelo Antônio Guedes Filho, joined Lyon in 2017 from Besiktas and went on to make over 120 appearances for the French club.

According to L’Équipe, former Lyon defender Marcelo was notably dropped from the squad due to his farts in the locker room and subsequent laughs over it, much to the displeasure of ex sporting director Juninho.

After a disastrous performance in a 3-0 loss to Angers earlier this season, the Brazilian was demoted to the reserves, which was aggravated by what the club later described as “inappropriate behavior.”

That behavior has manifested itself as the centre-habit back’s of farting in the locker room and laughing about it with his teammates.

Juninho, who had never been especially close to his countrymen, reacted by removing him from the squad, along with manager Peter Bosz.

The contract of the 34-year-old was eventually terminated at the end of January, and he has since joined relegation-threatened Bordeaux.
