Nana Owusu Afriyie Prempeh, a known member of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) has called for unity and dedication as the party aims to secure a historic victory in the upcoming 7 December elections.
Addressing party delegates in the Manhyia South Constituency on Sunday (4 August) he emphasized the unprecedented challenge of “breaking the eight”—a feat no political party has achieved under Ghana’s 1992 constitution.
Nana Owusu who lost the just-ended parliamentary by-election held in the constituency, urged party members to set aside internal differences and rally behind the newly chosen parliamentary candidate, Lawyer Baffuor Awuah.
“Breaking the eight is a daunting task, but with unity and hard work, we can achieve it,” Prempeh stated. “The huge votes that we will secure at Manhyia South and the other constituencies in the country will go a long way to help Dr. Bawumia and my brother, Napo to break the eight”.
During his visit to all six electoral areas in Manhyia South, Nana Owusu expressed his readiness to dedicate his time and resources to ensure a resounding victory for Lawyer Baffuor Awuah.
He stressed that the success of the NPP in Manhyia South and other constituencies is vital for supporting Dr. Bawumia and other party leaders in their bid to secure another term in office.
Nana Owusu concluded his address by reiterating the importance of continued unity and intensified campaigning efforts to maintain the party’s hold on power and build on its achievements.
