The New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) parliamentary candidate for the Juaben Constituency in the Ashanti Region, Francis Owusu-Akyaw, has ignited enthusiasm and energy among delegates and supporters emphasising the crucial role they play in the party’s quest to ‘break the 8.’
Speaking at a thanksgiving event for a successful parliamentary primary, Owusu-Akyaw highlighted the unwavering support for the party’s flagbearer, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, as the key to securing a third consecutive term in the upcoming December 2024 elections.
“I plead with you to work hard and propagate the achievement of the party and government and I promise to lead a vigorous campaign to ensure that the NPP retains power”, Owusu-Akyaw said as he reminded the party members to remain united ahead of the task.
“I want to reiterate that I will serve you with all honesty. And I wish to state that I will help improve the lives of the people and also work hard to appreciate our votes and ensure Dr Bawumia is elected president”.
Owusu-Akyaw emerged victorious in the January 27 primaries, securing 334 votes and defeating the sitting MP and Deputy Communications Minister, Ama Pomaa Boateng, who garnered 120 votes.
The thanksgiving event, held on Sunday (18 February) at the Adu Boahen Park, was a joyous occasion with attendees, some dressed in all-white apparel, enjoying song ministrations.
The parliamentary candidate thanked the Almighty God for a peaceful primary and applauded the party executives and members for their role in making the election a success.
