Ghanaian leader Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has heaped praises on the senior national team the Black Stars.
In a tweet, the first gentle of Ghana expressed his gratitude and excitement about Black Stars victory over Bafana Bafana of South Africa on Thursday night in Cape Coast, Ghana.
“Great performance by the Black Stars, and a thoroughly deserved victory against South Africa. Very proud of the players, technical and management teams. Next stop, São Tomé and Príncipe,” Akufo-Addo tweeted.
Ghana beat South Africa 2-0 in their first qualifier game for 2021 Africa Cup of Nations which will be staged in Cameroon. Thomas Partey of Atletico Madrid netted the first goal of the match on the 35th minutes with a powerful pile driver outside the box to give Ghana the lead before former Black Satellites midfield gem Mohan Kudus of Denmark side FC Nordsjaelland made it double.
The Black Stars will take on Sao Tome & Principe next in their second game of the qualifiers.
