“Corruption is the enemy of development, and of good governance. It must be got rid of. Both the government and the people at large must come together to achieve this national objective.” ~ Pratibha Patil (Former President of India)
The truth is one and it stands tall at all times.
It is a palpable lie that the erstwhile NDC government treated key appointees under President Kufuor’s administration with kid gloves.
We all recall how the NDC used the Ga-Dangme Youth Association led by Prince Derek Adjei to chase President Kufuor out of his official office.
Then candidate Akufo-Addo upon the advent of an NDC government wasn’t spared either, his personal cars were seized and never returned to him as of today May 2020.
Former Chief Executive of the Ghana@50 Secretariat Dr. Charles Wereko-Brobby, former Chief of Staff Kwadwo Mpiani, Akwasi Osei Adjei, former Foreign Affairs Minister, Daniel Charles Gyimah, former Managing Director of National Investment Bank (NIB).
The rest included former Information Minister, Mr. Stephen Asamoah Boateng and his wife Zuleika Lorwia, Dr. Akoto-Osei, Dr. Richard Anane, former Roads and Transport Minister, former Deputy Finance Minister, Prof. George Gyan Baffour and Former Minister of State at the Finance Ministry, Dr. Anthony Akoto Osei etc. were arrested in Rambo style, sent to court and charged ranging from stealing, willfully causing financial loss and defrauding the state etc.
Political actors, public and civil servants etc shouldn’t forget people have been shot in this country for less and on some poor and illogical reasons as personal loans.
Every government appointee should be guided and reminded that he will account for his stewardship one day and those serving with the sole aim of making money dubiously should get themselves a rethink.
