At least four persons have been burnt to death after a fire outbreak in the early hours of Friday, May 3, 2019 at Kromantsen in the Mfantsiman municipality.
Two others are battling for their lives having sustained serious injuries in the blaze, fire fighters have confirmed.
The injured are currently receiving treatment at the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital.
Fire officials have been to the scene to bring the situation under control.
The fire engulfed a house with four rooms where personal belongings, fufu pounding machine and extended wooden structure were burnt. It took the firefighters about one hour to bring the fire under control.
Preliminary investigation revealed traces of stored combustible liquids suspected to be premixed fuel caused the fire, fire fighters said.
Eye witness accounts attributed the incident to stored premixed fuel that came in contact with naked fire from a food vendor in the same premises.
Further investigation to established the actual cause of the fire has commenced.
