CAF CC: Real Bamako 3 – 0 Hearts- ‘Flippant’ Phobians disgraced in Mali

Accra Hearts of Oak SC were disgraced in Mali on Saturday afternoon in their away game in the CAF Confederation Cup competition.

The flippant Ghanaian giants were humiliated by AS Real Bamako in Mali as the Phobians got outplayed by the minnows in Africa club competition.

The Malians beat the Phobians 3-0 at the Stade 26 Mars in the first leg of the second preliminary round of the CAF Confederations Cup.

Real Bamako were too hot to handle and begun the game on a blistering pace and took the game to the Ghana club and putting pressure on the defense.

On the 11th minute mark following a beautiful passage of play with Ibourahima Sidibé striking from a close range to find the back of the net, the home team took the lead.

The visitors came close to restoring parity on the 17th minute as Gladson Awako’s free kick went off the upright.

Real Bamako doubled their through Dennis Korsah’s own goal on the half hour mark following a free-kick. In the second half of the match, the Phobians pushed men forward in search of a consolation goal and the equalizer.

Caleb Amankwah came close to scoring but his effort went wide with Afriyie Barnieh also squandering some half decent chances.

Inside 76th minute, Cheickna Diakite mesmerized two Hearts of Oak defenders to score the third goal of the match to make it 3-0 after full time.

Hearts of Oak SC will host AS Real Bamako on Sunday next week Sunday afternoon at the Accra Sports Stadium in the second leg of the tie.
