CAF has turned down Hearts of Oak’s request to admit fans to the stadium on Sunday afternoon when they take on CI Kamsar in the Champions League preliminary match, Dailymailgh.com can confirm.

The Phobians will have to do the job on Sunday and secure qualification to the next round of the 2021-22 CAF Champions League preliminary round without their die-hard supporters.

At the pre-match meeting on Saturday, CAF told the Ghana champions there will be no fans allowed at the game due to Coronavirus restrictions despite the request of 25% of the 40,000-seater capacity stadium.

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) cancelled the first leg clash which was scheduled to be honoured in Conakry due to political unrest in the West African country after a coup d’état.

Hearts of Oak and CI Kamsar will be battling for a slot to the next round of the competition in a one-off game at the Accra Sports Stadium with the winner of the tie going against WAC of Morocco for a place in the group stage.

The game will kick-off at 3:00 PM and will be telecast live on GTV Sports+
