Ghana Premier League giants Asante Kotoko won their Confederation Cup game against San Pedro on Monday by a solitary goal.

The game was postponed on Sunday due to heavy downpour after the first 45 minutes. As stated in the laws of CAF, the game had to be continued from where it was left off.

The second 45th minutes was played today, Monday 28th October 2019 at 2pm at the Kumasi Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

San Pedro proved a tough nut to crack for the Porcupine Warriors at their Kumasi stronghold.

Burkina Faso import Sogne Yacouba was brought down in the box deep into stoppage time and the home side was awarded a penalty by the South African referee.

Guinea international striker Naby Keita stepped up and converted expertly from the 12 yards to hand the home side an important 1-0 victory.

The return leg would be played on Sunday in Côte d’Ivoire for a place in the 2019 CAF Confederation Cup group stage.
