Cargo truck crashes on-duty officer to death on Kintampo-Techiman road

A cargo truck has killed a police officer on duty at Nante Zongo on the Kintampo-Techiman road, officials say.

The deceased has been named as Inspector Foster Ampomah— who was on duty with his colleague on that stretch.

The incident occurred at about 6a.m Friday when the vehicle with registration number GE 7562—14 was en route to Kumasi from Bolgatanga.

The body of Inspector Ampomah who was pronounced dead on the spot has been deposited at the Kintampo Municipal Hospital for preservation and autopsy.

The driver, 30-year-old Awudu Sumaila has since been detained together with his mate as part of police investigations.
