Rev. Father Peter Kusi Twumasi, the Acting Rector of St. Stephen Rectorate in Bodomase, Ashanti region, has publicly apologized after leading his congregation in a rendition of King Paluta’s “Aseda” during a church service.
The incident, which was captured in a widely circulated video on social media, showed the priest and his parishioners enthusiastically singing along to the popular song. The video has since sparked a mix of reactions online.
Father Twumasi expressed regret for allowing a secular song to be performed within a sacred context, acknowledging that he momentarily lost focus on maintaining the church’s traditional values. He emphasized that there was no intention to undermine the Catholic Church’s long-standing practices.
