New Patriotic Party (NPP) stalwart Odeneho Kwaku Appiah, widely known as COKA is rallying support for the party ahead of the upcoming elections.

On Sunday (1 September), COKA, alongside Dr. Yaw Opoku Isaac, the parliamentary candidate for Offinso South, led a high-energy campaign event in the constituency, marking a pivotal moment for the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Kwaku Appiah underscored the importance of unity within the NPP ranks, asserting that the party’s continued dominance hinges on a unified front.

“Campaigns do not end on the platforms. We can be sure to remain the ruling party on condition that we all remain united. By doing so, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) will forever stay in opposition.

“I encourage all of us to visit the constituents in their homes. Make them understand why it is important to retain the NPP. Make them understand that the NDC has nothing to offer them.”

Addressing the issue of voting patterns, COKA highlighted the need for consistent voting for both parliamentary and presidential candidates.

“The fight in our parliament today is a result of the outcome of our votes in 2020. While you are voting for the candidate, don’t forget to vote for the flagbearer too. This is for purposes of productivity and smooth running of our next government.”

MP

Dr Yaw Opoku Isaac, the incumbent MP for Offinso South and NPP’s parliamentary candidate for the upcoming elections echoed COKA’s message, appealing to voters for a second term to complete ongoing development projects.

“I am yet to complete a 4-year term in office. When you look around, you realize that a lot has changed in terms of development. Yes, it may not be enough, and this is why I am appealing to you to vote for me and Dr. Bawumia to enable my government to do more for our beloved constituency.”

The event was further bolstered by the presence of key NPP figures, including Hon. Collins Adomako Mensah, Deputy Energy Minister and MP for Afigya Kwabre North; Kingsley Owusu Appiah, MCE for Offinso South; and Regional Organiser Francis Adomako.

Donation

COKA, who served as Chairman of the Afigya Kwabre South also donated a wheelchair to a 43-year-old physically challenged man identified as Philimon Quashie.

In the early hours of 6 September, a team comprising the Offinso South NPP constituency Chairman Salathiel Kwaku Takyi, and the Assembly member for the Abofuo Electoral area, Hon Sarfo visited the home of Quashie to deliver a wheelchair and an undisclosed amount of money.

During the launch of the unity walk in the constituency last weekend, Quashie was seen in his half-faulty wheelchair at the campaign grounds. A situation which caught the attention of COKA who pledged to assist him. In a conversation with Quarshie, COKA said “Your wheelchair isn’t strong enough but for your enthusiasm, I will get you a new one.”

Grateful Quashie expressed his heartfelt appreciation to COKA and his NPP team for the kind gesture which was shown to him.
