The Asokore Mampong District Court has adjourned the case involving six accused persons standing trial in connection with the violence that broke out at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).

This follows the submission by the prosecution that the matter has been referred to the Attorney General’s Department for advice. The prosecution however prayed the court to adjourn the case indicating that the AG’s advice will be available at the next hearing.

The court presided over by His Worship Samuel Quansah consequently granted the request and adjourned the sitting to November 29. He also reminded the police to get all other suspects to face justice. A bail condition of a fourth accused person was also reviewed.

The police arrested the six in a search for 62 persons linked to the August 18 incident. The clash between the University(Katanga) and the Unity (Conti) Halls led to the destruction of properties and many others wounded.
