Dr. Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings, Member of Parliament for Korle Klottey, has highlighted corruption as the most significant threat to Ghana’s democracy.
Speaking at the launch of the NDC’s campaign in Tamale on Saturday (27 July), she underscored the urgent need for collective action to address the pervasive issue of corruption, which she believes hampers the country’s growth and prosperity.
Dr. Agyeman-Rawlings pointed out that corruption impacts every facet of Ghanaian life, from education and healthcare to governance. She called on citizens to demand greater accountability from their leaders and to unite in the fight against corruption.
“Corruption is the biggest threat to our democracy,” she stated. “It is not just the challenges we see around us; it is the corruption that has been perpetuated under this NPP government.”
She urged a commitment to zero tolerance for corruption and pledged her support to John Mahama in tackling the issue.
“We need to set high standards and promise one another, and promise John Mahama, that we will uphold zero tolerance when it comes to corruption,” she said.
