At least 175 British nationals have been flown out of Ghana’s capital, Accra as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The British High Commissioner to Ghana, Iain Walker in a tweet said his compatriots left on Saturday and have already reunited with their families in the United Kingdom.
He was full of praise for the government of Ghana for the smooth collaboration. It is the third such emergency flight that has departed the country.

The flight also included some Australians, according to their High Commissioner to Ghana Andre Barnes.

Ghana’s Covid-19 status
So far Ghana has confirmed 214 Covid-19 cases with five deaths.
The outbreak has been detected in five regions across the country with the Greater Accra Region leading with 189 cases.
The other regions include the Ashanti Region with 12 cases, and the Northern Region which has recorded 10. The Upper East, Upper West and the Eastern Regions have recorded only one case.
