Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), emphasized that Ghana is not immune to the global economic challenges currently affecting many countries.

During a meeting with the clergy in the Central Region as part of his campaign tour, Dr. Bawumia highlighted that the economic hardships are a worldwide issue. “It is very clear that the cost of living has gone up across the world. Even when I was in Canada just a few weeks ago, there were similar complaints,” he said.

He pointed out the significant rise in the cost of living and the surge in global inflation, stating, “There has been a major increase in the cost of living, and global inflation has increased fivefold, so there is a problem.”

Dr. Bawumia assured the clergy that the government is actively working to mitigate the difficulties faced by Ghanaians amid these global economic pressures.
