Danny Opoku Antwi, the NPP-USA Youth Organizer and a member of the NPP 2024 Presidential running mate campaign team, has issued a strong statement condemning what he calls the violent tactics planned by the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).
In an interview with dailymailgh.com on Sunday (3 November) he expressed confidence that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) is set to secure a majority in Parliament as well as a significant victory in the presidential race in the upcoming 2024 elections.
Opoku Antwi alleged that the NDC’s approach to the election involves inciting violence, contrasting this with the NPP’s commitment to protecting the democratic will of the Ghanaian people.
“We’re not cowards or afraid,” he stated, affirming the NPP’s resolve to safeguard both the electoral process and the will of God.
His remarks come in response to the NDC’s recent launch of a vigilante group—a move he labeled as “lawless” and an ill-timed provocation, coinciding with the launch of a National Peace Campaign intended to promote stability ahead of the elections.
Opoku Antwi claimed that the NDC’s actions reflect the frustration of former President John Mahama, whom he accused of “beating war drums” instead of focusing on a constructive campaign.
Despite these tensions, Opoku Antwi reassured NPP supporters that the party would ensure a fair and decisive victory in 2024.
“We are winning and nothing can stop us”, he declared adding: “Dr Bawumia’s victory is non-negotiable. He will be Ghana’s next president”.
