The issue has been referred to a Special Committee following a decision made during FEC’s regular meeting on Tuesday, October 17, 2023.
The Special Committee has been given the additional responsibility of investigating an appeal process related to the eligibility of one of the aspirants.
The members of the Special Committee include:

- Dr. Samuel Sarpong – National Vice Chairman, NDC
- Mr. George Loh – Deputy Director Legal, NDC
- Obuobia Darko-Opoku – Deputy Director of Communications, NDC
- Peter Lanchene Toobu – MP for Wa West Constituency
In the interim, all processes related to the NDC’s parliamentary primary in the Odododiodio Constituency have been suspended pending the findings of the Special Committee’s investigations.
FEC’s decision was announced in a press statement signed by NDC General Secretary, Fifi Fiavi Kwetey.
The Odododiodoo Constituency parliamentary primary has been marked by controversy, with allegations of bias and favouritism against party leadership. The violence at the NDC’s Greater Accra Regional Office during the aspirants’ vetting process has drawn widespread condemnation. Many are looking to the Special Committee to thoroughly investigate the matter and make appropriate recommendations.
