Vice President and New Patriotic Party (NPP) Presidential Candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, on Sunday, December 1, inaugurated the Otuo Siriboe STEM Junior High School in Juaben, located in the Ashanti Region. The school, the first of its kind, is dedicated to Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) education, equipped with advanced science laboratories to enhance teaching and learning.
Dr. Bawumia emphasized the government’s commitment to expanding access to quality STEM education across the country, noting that similar institutions would be established in other regions to empower the next generation with the skills needed for the future.
The school’s namesake, Nana Otuo Siriboe II, Paramount Chief of Juaben, expressed his gratitude to the government for the honor. “I express my gratitude to the government for the honour of having the school named after me. We also acknowledge the progress made in our community and extend our thanks for the establishment of the school,” he stated during the ceremony.
As a trained engineer, Nana Otuo Siriboe II pledged to contribute to the school’s success by personally teaching some lessons. His commitment reflects his passion for education and the advancement of STEM initiatives in Juaben.
The Paramount Chief also highlighted the community’s support for Dr. Bawumia, recognizing the developments in the area. “My constituents have committed to supporting Dr. Bawumia in recognition of the advancements in Juaben,” he added, commending the government’s efforts to prioritize education and development.
