Fair enough if you think aside the many efforts by government, fasting is a ‘silly’ thing for the President to call for.
Most of you don’t believe God even exist because by His divine mercies and grace He made life easy for you to become a Dr, Prof, Banker, successful businesswoman/man, journalists, etc. You even sometimes question the existence of the power of God.
You are free to say whatever you want but remember that your thoughts cannot be the thoughts of those of us who have absolute believe in the power of God.
As it is written in 1 Corinthians 1:18: “For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God”.
I am a believer of the Gospel and at all times I will not be ashamed to abide by the teachings in 1 Thessalonians 5:17 that I should “Pray without ceasing”. Even Jesus Christ, knowing very well he could do anything just by word of mouth stated to his disciples in Mathew 17:21 that “But this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting”.
I know I am human and not immune to this virus just as everyone, but aside taking all the precautionary and preventive measures I will fast and pray and believe the Almighty God to show me His mercies, grace and favor, as according to His will but not mine – Luke 22:42.
And for your information, the President has not said because we should pray and fast all other things must be put on hold. It can only be the display of lack of appreciation of context that anyone can assume that because the President calls for prayers all other efforts are put on hold. Sometimes people should spare us this ‘rushy’ attitude of saying and writing things out of hatred for political authorities and ignorance of the things they propose.
