Dutch-born Ghanaian teenager Jeremie Frimpong was adjudged the Dafabet most valuable player on Wednesday night as Celtic walloped St. Partick Thistle 5-0 in the Scottish Cup at Celtic Park.

Frimpong, who was playing his first game for the club since his summer move from Manchester City, was superb at the back as he defended well and also moved forward to join the attack when it mattered.

The 18-year-old guardsman was initially signed to feature for the Celtic youth team but after a couple of fantastic performances at training, he was promoted to the senior side by manager Neil Lennon.

He is expected to start on Saturday when Celtic travel to play Hibernian in the Scottish Premiership.
