The Electoral Commission of Ghana will begin a nationwide exhibition of the new voter’s register starting September 18, 2020.
The weeklong exercise will run from 7am to 6p.m. each day including Saturdays and Sundays, the Commission said in a statement on Wednesday, September 8.
Voters who were captured in the new electoral roll are expected to visit their respective polling stations where they will be allowed to confirm or review their details.
It also provides opportunity to individuals to object to the inclusion of unqualified names in the register on grounds such as the registration of minors and non-Ghanaians.
The exhibition ahead of the 2020 polls will also replace unclear photographs and allow voters to verify their polling station details as well.
Voters who registered at the District Offices of the Electoral Commission are being reminded to visit their polling stations assigned to them during the registration exercise to verify their details.
An SMS platform has also been introduced to enable registered voters access their registration details.
“To access the platform voters should simply text their voter ID card number to the shortcode 1422 to obtain their registration details”, the Commission noted.
