Education Minister, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh popularly known as NAPO has expressed his condolences to family of the slain teacher at Asiakwa, in the Eastern region.

Mr. George Somuah Bosompem, who was a Religious and Moral Education teacher at Salvation Army Basic School, in Asiakwa, was gruesomely murdered by some young boys in the hitherto peaceful community, recently.

Napo was accompanied by officials of the Ghana Education Service led by its Director General Prof. Opoku Amankwa.

Condemnation

The Minister of Education who condemned the dastardly act, stressed that the perpetrators of the heinous crime would be dealt with by the laws of the state.

“My ministry wil make sure that the security agencies would be given the full support so that anyone that has a hand in the killing of the innocent teacher will be made to face the law,” he assured.

The Education Minister also assured that his ministry and the GES would offer the needed support to the bereaved family so that the late Bosompem would be given a befitting burial.

Napo also appealed to the teachers of the Salvation Army Basic School at Asiakwa to quickly return to class and work, assuring them that nobody would harm them for educating the youth.

He also admonished teachers, especially, those that are fond of visiting the social media to peddle falsehood about the noble profession, to desist from doing so.

The bereaved family commended Napo commiserating with them, pointing out that his visit clearly shows that he is a caring minister.
