NPP MP for Atiwa East Abena Osei-Asare on Saturday (22 April) donated some assorted items to 12 Zongo communities within her constituency.
The gesture is to help bring their month-long Ramadan fast to a successful end.
Led by some constituency executives of the New Patriotic Party, the items which include 105 bags of rice, and 30 boxes of cooking oil were presented to the local Zongo Chiefs as well as leaders and members of these communities.
Madam Osei-Asare who doubles as the country’s Deputy Minister of Finance told dailymailgh.com that the largesse was in support of her Muslim brothers and sisters as they mark the Eid al-Fitr festival, which is the first of two canonical festivals of Islam.
She asked for their prayers and reaffirmed her commitment to developing Zongo communities in the constituency.
The beneficiaries were Zongo communities in Anyinam, Ankaase, New Jejeti, Aworensua, Akutuase, Tiawia, Enyiresi, Sekyere, Nanapa, among others.
The leaders on their part pledged to boldly defend the good works of their sister whenever they get the opportunity to do so.
