Eight COVID-19 patients in critical condition in Ghana

Eight COVID-19 patients are in critical condition in Ghana, health officials have revealed.

However, according to the Ghana Health Service, none of them is on a ventilator.

Of the eight, three are on admission at the University of Ghana Medical Centre, two are at the Ga-East Hospital, one is at Ho, with the Korle-Bu and Tetteh Quarshie Hospitals having one each.

Regarding the case counts, Ghana has recorded 178 new COVID-19 cases to increase the caseload to 6,096, according to the Ghana Health Service on Tuesday.

The death toll still stands at 31 with 19 more recoveries recorded, making the total 1,773.

The total number of tests administered as of May 19, 2020 was 184, 343.
