The Electoral Commission (EC) has announced the online re-exhibition of the 2024 Provisional Voter Register, scheduled to run from Tuesday, October 15 to Sunday, October 19, 2024.
This initiative follows the EC’s commitment, made during a Special IPAC meeting on October 1, to offer a revised version of the Provisional Voter Register (PVR) online. The purpose is to allow registered voters to verify their details and address any errors, responding to concerns raised by the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
The online re-exhibition is intended to streamline the voting process ahead of the 2024 General Elections. In a statement released on Monday, October 14, the EC stated, “The Electoral Commission wishes to announce for the information of the General Public, Registered Voters and all Stakeholders, that Re-Exhibition of the Provisional Voters Register (PVR) will commence on Tuesday, 15th October and end on Saturday, 19th October, 2024.”
Beginning October 15, voters can verify their registration details by dialing *711*51# at no cost or by visiting the EC’s official website (https://ec.gov.gh). The EC explained, “Voters should click on the pop-up link at the bottom-right corner of the screen and enter the 10-digit Voter ID number to receive their voter registration details.”
The EC also urged voters to report any discrepancies they find to their District Office for corrections. “The Public should note that any discrepancies identified must be reported to the District Office of the Commission where they are registered voters for correction. Once the Re-Exhibition Exercise ends on Saturday, 19th October, voters will still be able to check their details Online but CANNOT request for correction of their details,” the statement added.
Additionally, the EC called on political parties to report any issues using the Template provided by the Commission, ensuring all identified discrepancies are addressed during the re-exhibition period. “Political Parties are required to use the Template provided by the Commission to submit any discrepancies identified during the Re-Exhibition period,” the EC noted.
