The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has extended its congratulations to Donald J. Trump on his recent victory in the U.S. presidential election, marking his return to the White House after his previous defeat to Joe Biden in 2020.
In a statement released on Wednesday, NDC General Secretary Fifi Fiavi Kwetey called Trump’s win a promising signal for the NDC as Ghana heads toward its presidential election on December 7, 2024.
Kwetey highlighted similarities between the U.S. election and Ghana’s upcoming polls, suggesting that, like American voters who opted for seasoned leadership, Ghanaians may reject the current administration due to what he described as “insensitivity, corruption, and economic mismanagement.”
He reiterated the NDC’s dedication to bringing “stability, integrity, and renewed hope” to Ghana, emphasizing the party’s position as a credible alternative for citizens looking for a fresh direction in governance.
