Odeneho Kwaku Appiah (COKA), a former New Patriotic Party (NPP) chairman, has urged party members in Ejisu to come together in unity and strive to secure a landslide victory in the 2024 general elections.
Speaking at the end of a health walk and campaign launch on Saturday (7 September) at the Ejisu Constituency in the Ashanti Region, COKA emphasized that Ghanaians will never forgive the NPP if they fail to win the upcoming elections and continue their flagship policies like Free SHS.
“We are at a critical moment in our country’s history. Ghanaians have witnessed the positive impact of our policies, and they will never forgive us if we let power slip away. The Free SHS policy, for instance, is too important to risk losing. It’s a lifeline for the future of our children,” COKA stated passionately to the energized crowd.
He further warned that the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) might reverse the progress made under the NPP if they win, urging the members to mobilize and campaign door-to-door for votes.
“We must remember that elections have consequences. If the NDC comes to power, they could cancel important initiatives like the Free SHS and others that are helping to move this country forward. We must fight to keep the NPP in power, and the only way to do that is through hard work, unity, and commitment,” he added.
COKA concluded his address by reminding supporters that the responsibility of retaining power lies with them and that losing to the NDC would be an unforgivable mistake.
“This election is not just about our party—it’s about Ghana’s future. We have the momentum, and the people trust us. Let’s show that we are capable of delivering again. A win is the only way to protect the gains we’ve made. And here at Ejisu we must prove our strength by delivering over 90% of the votes”, he said.
The campaign event also saw the regional first vice chairman of the party, Patrick Acheampong, inaugurate the local campaign team. Lawyer Kwabena Boateng, the NPP parliamentary candidate for the Ejisu constituency, echoed COKA’s call, encouraging party members to replicate the strong voting record from previous elections.
“Ejisu has always been a stronghold of the NPP, and I do not doubt that we will surpass even our past results. This constituency is the gateway to the Ashanti Region, we’ve done it before, and we will do it again,” Lawyer Kwabena Boateng confidently declared.
