Hon. Gifty Twum Ampofo, the Member of Parliament for Abuakwa North, is the latest to add her voice to Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh’s selection as running mate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.

She says the nominee’s dedication, selflessness, and ability to inspire and uplift those around him make him the right choice for the slot.

According to Hon. Twum Ampofo, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, affectionately known as Napo, embodies a rare selflessness in his work ethic and commitment to Ghana and the NPP.

“He works as if he is working for himself,” the former Deputy Minister of Education told Accra-based Zed FM. “Irrespective of what it may cost him provided it will bring good results to the country and the party, he will sacrifice his life and even his last pesewa.”

“In working with Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, he doesn’t fear uplifting anybody. He creates the avenue and the enabling environment to make sure you succeed,” she noted.

Hon. Twum Ampofo said Napo is “a true party person to ginger the grassroots,” highlighting his comprehensive knowledge and his ability to motivate and unite party members. His transparency and insistence on truthfulness set a high standard for those around him, fostering a culture of honesty and integrity.

Despite occasional misconceptions about his confidence being mistaken for arrogance, Napo remains steadfast in his principles.

“He is confident and truthful, he can’t stand hypocrisy,” Hon. Twum Ampofo asserted, defending his straightforward nature. His commitment to transparency and truth has sometimes been controversial, but it has ultimately proven beneficial for the party and the country.

As the NPP prepares for the upcoming elections, the selection of Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh as running mate brings a renewed sense of optimism and unity within the party. Hon. Twum Ampofo’s heartfelt endorsement underscores the widespread anticipation and support for Napo’s leadership.

“He is the man of the moment,” she declared, urging for the official announcement to be made soon.
