French-born Ghanaian enforcer Elisha Owusu says the Gent vs St. Etienne Europa League game at the KAA Gent Stadium is for him.
Owusu, who was signed by Gent from Lyon this summer, insists he knows the St. Etienne team very well and has faced them many times so this is another battle for him.
“As a former player of Lyon, a game against St. Etienne is always something special because it has always being a hot battle with them,” Owusu told the press ahead of the game.
“I see this match as another battle and the approach will be the same. St. Etienne is a very strong team, they have lots of guys who are technically trained. They also have lots of experience and are able to score goals.
“Me personally, I have never been afraid of St. Etienne. However, I do respect them. The are very strong and play for each other. We should not just focus on one player,” he added.
Owusu, 21, has been the engine of the Gent team so far this season, making 12 appearances in all competitions.
