Dutch-born Ghanaian attacker Dereck Darkwa has signed for Eerste Division side FC Volendam on a free transfer.
Darkwa, 19, last season played for the youth team of Eredivise outfit FC Utrecht where he made 13 League appearances scoring thrice and providing one assist but left the club on March 26, 2019 when his contract was terminated through mutual consent.
The ambidextrous youngster is well regarded in The Netherlands because of his versatility as aside his natural centre forward position, he can also play on the wings and as well as an attacking midfielder.
Born in Amsterdam to Ghanaian parents, Darkwa has featured for the Netherlands at Under 15, 16 and 17 levels but still eligible to play for Ghana.
