German Bundesliga II side St. Pauli are on the heels of Dutch-born Ghanaian defender Leeroy Owusu.

The Kiezkickers are eager to sign the 23-year-old from Eerste Division outfit De Graafschap as they seek to tighten up their defence.

St. Pauli made an official bid of 500,000 Euros last week, which was turned down, and Dailymailgh.com understands they are ready to top it up to 700,000 Euros for the services of the Dutch-born Ghanaian.

Last season, Owusu featured in 34 Eredivise games scoring one goal as De Graafschap were relegated from the topflight.

He has previously featured for Almere City, Excelsoir and Ajax Amsterdam.
