Abdul Fatawu is set to return to Ghana after contract talks with Swedish top-flight side Helsingborgs IF broke down.
Reports reaching Dailymailgh.com are that Helsingborgs IF offered €15,000 for a one-year loan with an option to make it permanent for €60,000 but the Ghanaian giants are not in favour of the deal.
Fatawu is likely to return to Ghana to join his teammates if Helsingborgs fail to resurrect the deal with improved conditions.
Asante Kotoko will face Kano Pillars of Nigeria next month in the CAF Champions League, and the return of Fatawu would be a positive morale boost to the team.
