The student, identified as Papa Ayensu Appiah Ofori, was reportedly stabbed in the leg by suspected armed robbers on Friday November 8 around Block C of the African Union Hall, popularly known as Pent.

According to close sources, the Political Science student, after the attack, was rushed to the Legon Hospital where he was placed on admission.

Papa Ayensu Appiah Ofori was subsequently discharged on Sunday, December 10.

On Tuesday, November 12, the student, known among his colleagues as Don Self, died.

State of security around African Union Hall

Students of the University who regularly ply the route leading to the African Union Hall continue to lament about the state of insecurity in the area.

With less security visibility and malfunctioning streetlights along the path leading to the hall, students who ply the route become susceptible to robbers.
