Students in Ghana’s public universities have kicked against a move to raise higher education costs by 70 per cent.

The University Students Association of Ghana (USAG) which is leading this protest has described this development as insensitive. The student body also fears the situation could force many to drop out of school as many are already struggling to survive due to the country’s worsening economic challenges.

A social media campaign has been launched to fiercely opposed the move, according to a statement signed by Joshua Opey, the General Secretary of USAG.
