Ghana captain Andre Ayew has arrived in Kumasi to offer his unflinching support to his colleagues despite not being suspended for the cliffhanger against Nigeria.
Ghana entertain Nigeria in the first leg of the 2022 World Cup playoff on March 25, Friday, at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium before the return leg four days time at the Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja.
Andre Ayew who is serving a suspension following his red card received at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon touched down on Kumasi on Thursday.
He was shown the exit as he received a straight red card in Ghana’s third group game against minnows Comoros after a challenge with their goalkeeper.
Ayew’s unavailability is certainly a big blow to the Black Stars but the dedicated Ghana captain has flown to the country to support his colleagues.
The game is scheduled for Kumasi and kicks off at 7 :30pm with Ghana hoping for a better scoreline in the first leg before the return leg in Nigeria on March 29.
