A large fire lit up a tissue paper factory at Budumburam in Ghana’s Central Region, local media reported.
The incident which occurred Saturday afternoon, completely burnt down the facility including its warehouse, myjoyonline.com reported.
Three fire engines were called to the scene to battle the blaze.
Though the cause of the fire is yet to be established, it is gathered that an explosion accompanied by plumes of white smoke etched against the sky.
It is estimated that close to GH₵3million worth of properties have been lost in the inferno, myjoyonline reported.
There are fears workers could lose their jobs following the incident as managers direct a temporary shutdown of the facility.
Police had cordoned off the scene as investigation begins.
