Former Ghana coach CK Akonnor says he was forced to call players like Emmanuel Lomotey

Former Ghana coach Charles Kwablah Akonnor has revealed how he was forced to hand some players Black Stars call-up including Emmanuel Lomotey.

The Ex-Ghana coach’s interview today has confirmed that he was tossed around by the Ghana Football Association bosses when it comes to player selection.

“Having a final say on player selection was a challenge. There were times I was so frustrated and I didn’t want to call certain players.”

“It got to a point I wasn’t going to call Emmanuel Lomotey again”, he told Joy Sports in an interview.

CK Akonnor was sacked as Ghana coach with two games left in the group stages of the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers and was replaced by Milovan Rajevac.

A hosts of Ghana top journalists and football enthusiasts have always suggested that Black Stars coaches don’t get free hand to operate, believing that the FA capos always have their way.

The former Ghana International and coach has confirmed that such practices takes place as he feels he wasn’t given a free room to operate as Ghana coach.
