Four officers have been sacked from the Ministry of National Security after an investigation established that their conduct during the arrest of a Citi FM report, Caleb Kudah, “was inappropriate and contravened the standard operating procedures” of the ministry.
The Director of Operations at the National Security, Lieutenant Colonel Frank Agyeman, and three police officers have been fired from the ministry and been asked to report at their original detachments for further investigations.
“The secondment of Lieutenant Colonel Frank Agyeman (Director of Operations) at the Ministry has been reversed. The officer is to report to the Chief of Defence for further investigations and appropriate action.”
Three other police officers involved in the assault have also been withdrawn and instructed to report to the Ghana Police Service for investigation.
The investigation also concluded that the journalist’s conduct was “unlawful.”
