The maiden edition of the Youth Awards Ghana came off Saturday, January 30 at the SSNIT Conference Hall under the theme “Empowering Generational Youth”.
In all over twenty (20) individuals, including politicians, journalists, entrepreneurs were awarded for their contributions to youth development with Francis Owusu Akyaw being honoured for his “outstanding and selfless commitment in rendering services to the development of Ghana”.
The organizers, Nkay Management lauded Mr Owusu-Akyaw, for his philanthropy work in the area of education, security, health and amongst others.
Its CEO, Christopher Frimpong said the Minerals expert had empowered people who had less education.
He noted that Mr Owusu-Akyaw had with great commitment shown to have the interest of the under-privileged at heart.
According to Frimpong the youth in Juaben, where Mr Owusu-Akyaw hails from, are particularly happy with the numerous contributions of the minerals expert including the construction of infrastructure and the supply of COVID-19 items to the people.
Describing Mr Akyaw as an outstanding figure, the CEO said the group was happy honoring such a true statesman and patriot.
Mr Owusu-Akyaw, on his part said he was grateful for the honour done to him.
He said the organizers had shown they were monitoring the little contributions he was making to make the lives of people better.
Mr Akyaw further urged other members of the public who are well to do to ensure they support the needy in the society when they get the chance.
