Rev. Paul Kusi Appiah, a Kumasi-based pastor, has boldly declared that Francis Owusu-Akyaw, a politician and businessman, will win the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) parliamentary primaries in the Juaben Constituency of the Ashanti Region.
In an interview on Wontumi TV/Radio, Rev. Kusi Appiah asserted that Owusu-Akyaw, vying to unseat the current MP and Deputy Minister for Communications, Ama Pomaa Boateng, will secure a landslide victory during the January 27 race.
“The lady [Ama Pomaa] will lose,” Kusi Appiah, known for his accurate predictions in previous elections, confidently stated. He added, “The spirits and the land are in deep consultations, and it doesn’t look so well for the sitting MP.”
It would be recalled that the man of God made similar pronouncement that saw the Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, Justin Kodua Frimpong and Bernard Antwi Boasiako aka Chairman Wontumi, winning their elections in the presidential, General Secretary and Regional Chairman slots respectively.
Many delegates within the governing party in the Juaben Constituency appear not surprised with the turn of events as they say the sitting lawmaker has failed her constituents.
The upcoming parliamentary primary covers 108 constituencies with sitting lawmakers from the New Patriotic Party. Observers are already tipping Francis Owusu-Akyaw for victory in the Juaben constituency, potentially signalling a significant shift in Ghana’s political landscape.
