A massive cleanup exercise to rid the Manhyia South Constituency of filth kicked off at the Afia Kobi Electoral Area, Saturday morning.

The exercise brought together coordinators of the Free Senior High School (FSHS) across the country, who are holding their quarterly review meeting in Kumasi, the Ashanti Regional capital.

The event, which lasted for about six hours, was to help complement the efforts of the Education Minister and Member of Parliament (MP) for the area, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh aka ‘Napo’, who is their boss.

Kwame Agyapong, the FSHS National Coordinator and his Deputy, Nana Tima Boakye, led the initiative which has been described by residents in the area as laudable.

The participants entered choked gutters and cleared every dirt, and also cleared bushy areas to help beautify the electoral area.

Kwame Agyapong and Nana Tima Boakye, separately, described the free SHS as a successful policy, which has benefitted every household in the country, so far.

In this regard, they appealed passionately to the electorates to vote massively for President Nana Akufo-Addo to enable him sustain his good works.

Kusi Boadum, the Bono Region FSHS Coordinator, said his group was in Kumasi for their quarterly review meeting so they decided to take part in the cleanup exercise.

He boldly stated that the “free SHS programme has come to stay”, and so the electorates should vote and retain the NPP in political office on December 7.
