Ashantigold on Friday trained in Malabo ahead of their game against Akonangui in Ebebiyin in Equatorial Guinea.

The Miners have had a journey to regret as the team has been neglected by the club officials of their opponents Akonangui FC and the football federation in Equatorial Guinea.

The club tweeted, “Despite all efforts to get to Ebebiyin and train on the match venue today before our match tomorrow per CAF regulations, we’re being compelled to train in Malabo before departing to Ebebiyin”.

“Training session is done. We’ll be departing to Ebebiyin soon. This can’t break us”.

The four-time Ghana Premier League winners are expected to depart Malabo for Ebebiyin 6pm local time.

Ashantigold will taste the CAF Confederation Cup for the first time in Equatorial Guinea when they take on Akonangui FC at 15H00GMT.
