Gambia captain Colley names Essien in his All-time Africa best XI

Gambian national team deputy skipper Omar Colley has named former Ghana international Michael Essien in his best ever African eleven.

The towering Sampdoria defender believes no box-to-box midfielder from Africa has been better than the former Chelsea star.

“My best ever Africa XI are Kameni, Kolo and Yaya Toure, Koulibally, Essien, Aboutreika, Mane, Salah, Okocha, Drogba and Eto’o. The coach will be Aliou Cisse,” Colley told Eye Africa TV.

“Even though we (Gambia) are not playing in the AFCON, I hope our neighbours Guinea and Senegal will do well in the competition this year.”
