The Ghana Association of University Administrators (GAUA) has expressed unwavering support for the Senior Staff Association of Universities of Ghana (SSA-UoG) amid the ongoing nationwide strike.
GAUA emphasises the need for the government to promptly address issues related to tier 2 pension payments, the restoration of stopped agreed allowances, and other concerns raised by public university employees.
The statement warns that delays in resolving these issues may lead GAUA to join the strike, highlighting the impatience of Ghanaian workers and urging government agencies, including the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) and Fair Wages and Salaries Commission (FWSC), to respect conditions of service and negotiated outcomes to maintain industrial peace in public universities.
