Genoa are interested in signing Italian Under-21 defender Claud Adjapong from fellow Serie A side Sassuolo.
Dailymailgh.com understands the Rossublu are eager to swoop for Adjapong as manager Aurelio Andreazzoli seeks a lasting solution to his right-back problem.
Adjapong who was born to Ghanaian parents in Modena is one of the most regarded young players in Italy having made his Serie A debut on March 11, 2016 against champions Juventus.
His current contract with the Neroverdi expires on June 30, 2023 but he could be given out on loan as he continues his development.
Hellas Verona are also said to be preparing a loan bid for him.
