The Ghana Education Service (GES) on Thursday announced the introduction of a new school uniform for Junior High School (JHS) students.

The students are expected to start wearing the new uniform from next academic year, 2019/2020.

Announcing the move at a press conference, the Director-General of the GES, Prof Kwasi Opoku Amankwa said “our arrangement is that we will phase the old one out or the current one. It will be phase out.”

He said the phasing out process of the current uniform will be done in a sensitive manner explaining “We are not going to make it such that if you don’t have the uniform you cannot go to school.”
