Ghana’s Black Satellites succumbed to a 2-0 defeat to Nigeria in the opening game of the WAFU Zone B U20 Championship.
Nigeria scored in both halves to down the defending champions and take a big advantage as they sealed a place in the next round of the competition.
Adams Alubi gave Nigeria the lead after just six minutes into the game before substitute Mohammed Ibrahim got another in the 80th minute to make it 2-0 with just 10 minutes left on the clock.
The defeat leaves Ghana in a big delimma as they have no option than to pick a win in the next game against Burkina Faso.
Ghana wwill not make it to the next Africa Cup of Nations tournament next year if they lose to Burkina Faso which will see them out of the competition.
The BBlack Satellites are the defending champions of both the WAFU and CAF Youth Championship respectively.
