Black Princesses of Ghana qualified ahead of Ethiopia for the 2022 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Costa Rica with a home and away win over East Africa country.
The Princesses who are the National Women’s U20 team beat Ethiopia 2-1 and 5-1 on aggregate to book their tickets for the tournament.
Ghana won the first leg 3-0 in Ethiopia and they had just one task of seeing this one over the line by avoiding a heavy defeat at home.
The match took place at the Accra sports stadium and the Princesses started on the front foot in the tournament after the huge win.
Black Princesses took the lead after just two minutes in the game when Salamatu Abdulai produced a great run to put the ball at the back of the net.
In the 25th minute, Cecilia Nyama made beautiful pass to Salamatu Abdulai to extend the lead for the Princesses but Ethiopia pulled one back four minutes later.
The 2022 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup will be the 10th edition of the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup and will be played from 10th to 28th August, 2022.
